Texas Panhandle

Hey Kids,

So if you look at a map of Texas, who can point out which part of Texas is called "the Panhandle"? If you look real close, you can probably guess. Well, I drove through that part of Texas a few days ago and boy did I get some good pictures of the sunset! I have included them with this post for you to see.

The Texas panhandle is fairly flat as you can see in one of the pictures. I think I saw a sign at a rest stop that said something like the "panhandle plains of Texas". The picture of my truck was taken at that rest stop just east of Amarillo, Texas. Can you find that city in the panhandle?

So just one more question; if I left Oklahoma and went into the panhandle of Texas, what was the next state I went into?

Okay kids. Have a great day and be sure to write to me about any questions or comments you have.

Blessings,
~TruckerTony

  2. Hello Trucker Tony!
We enjoy hearing about your travels. We coudn't find an exact city east of Amarillo. Was the rest stop in Claude or McLean? Are you now traveling towards New Mexico? Either way, we look forward to knowing where you stop next and also what you're transporting.

    Be safe and take care.

  11. So you all had some great answers! If you look at a map of just Texas, there is the big part of the state with a "handle" on the upper left part of the state...otherwise known and the North/West part of the state. So that's the panhandle, and yes Amarillo is in the panhandle.

The rest area where I stayed was near McLean, just east of Amarillo.

The answer for the question of what "state" i would be going into next is New Mexico. When you leave Oklahoma going into Texas, you are traveling West. So the next state west of Texas is New Mexico.
